English translation:
Look, because of your lack of compassion we are exposed to every form of hardship, our lives and livelihoods threatened with extinction. It seems that you relish nothing more than to see the town reduced to ashes.
Is that the kind of love you boast of? Not to show compassion for families who have become mirrors of hardship? I plead with you to at least have compassion for your own families. Just look at your wives and you will see nothing but tears in their eyes. Glance at your children, crying out of hunger, pleading for rice to eat, while their mother can only feed them stone-hard crackers.
I am hoping that you will show caring for your own families, because if you abandon them, what kind of love for country can we expect of you? I know that you love your own wives and children and I am most hopeful that you will not let the independence we seek turn instead into a life of misery.
So come into the town, come on over here because you have it within your grasp to attain peace, comfort, freedom from want, prosperity and all other pleasures. Come, we embrace you; come help us wipe off the plentiful tears that are flowing because of your mistaken beliefs.
